Valentino Garavani was born in Italy in 1932, and gained a love of fashion early in his life. He moved to Paris at the age of 17 to pursue fashion and there studied at a local art school then became an apprentice with Jean Desses, then worked with Guy Laroche. After this time he moved back to Rome in 1959 and opened his own fashion house. It was in 1962 that he had his breakthrough collection shown becoming well known for his designs and in 1966 created his famous “V” logo.
